About Me

Hello! My name is Byron, and I was pretty much born into veterinary medicine. Both of my parents were trained as veterinarians - my dad went into medicine and practice ownership, while my mom went into research.
I forged my own path and told them through high school and most of college that I would never be a veterinarian. After considering a myriad of different career choices - dentistry, optometry, human medicine, biomedical engineering, and my childhood dream of being a valet car driver - I ended up pursing veterinary medicine (surprise!).

After graduating from the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine in 2017 and completing a one-year rotating internship at Loomis Basin Veterinary Clinic, I went back to my dad's practice part-time while also working locally at different hospitals to acquire a variety of experiences. A year later, through some unfortunate events, I found myself owning and operating his clinics which consumed the vast majority of my time through the end of 2022. Since 2023, I have been self-incorporated and working relief shifts for a variety of clinics and hospitals.

Testimonials

Dr. Lee is an excellent and trustworthy veterinarian - he provided wonderful care for our dog Luna when he was our vet, and even though we've moved away he remains an excellent resource we frequently consult whenever Luna has any health issues! It is so reassuring to always have his trusted second opinion and help for issues small and large - from answering basic questions and providing either reassurance or escalation of care, to recently helping us navigate an overwhelming ER visit where we had to decide between multiple different expensive labs and tests and procedures. We are all grateful to Dr. Lee and highly recommend his expertise and guidance! - JW & SY

I am so fortunate to know that veterinarians like Dr. Lee exist. Not only does he have the utmost knowledge and exceptional skills of a devoted medical professional, but I can feel that he has the genuine passion and kindness to help his patients. Having gone through several local veterinarians for my Labrador’s medical issue, I was feeling discouraged and helpless with all the different diagnoses and treatment plans. That was when I came across Dr. Lee’s wonderful services. I received an immediate response with an explanation on diagnostics, differentials, recommendations on next steps and treatment plans. Through Dr. Lee’s services, I finally felt a sense of relief for my Labrador. I can confidently say that Dr. Lee is one of the only veterinarians I trust for my baby’s care and well-being. I cannot recommend him enough. Thank you, Dr. Lee! - JL

Dr. Byron is a trustworthy, knowledgeable, and responsive vet who will always have your pet's best interest at heart! Although he wasn't our dog Ollie's primary vet due to location, we would virtually consult him on issues that would pop up here and there ever since he was a puppy. We could depend on him in these situations and are very grateful for his expertise! - CS

I can’t thank Dr. Byron enough for the compassionate care and expertise he provided as an independent consultant for our beloved cat, Choco. When Choco was diagnosed with leukemia, we were overwhelmed, and Byron became an invaluable guide, helping us understand our options and coordinate Choco’s care. He took the time to explain complex diagnostics, offer potential next steps, and help us navigate difficult end-of-life decisions with clarity and empathy. Dr. Byron’s trustworthy guidance was instrumental in giving Choco the best possible quality of life in his final days. For anyone looking for a knowledgeable, compassionate, and reliable veterinary consultant, I highly recommend Byron’s services. - AN & RL

Our 7 month old rag-doll kitten suddenly stopped having zoomies and did not want to jump on his tree or play anymore. He had very little energy and slept most of the day. We were extremely worried and consulted Dr. Lee as soon as this occurred. Given Dr. Lee’s extensive experience and clinical expertise, our cat was given lab tests and imaging w/ X-rays and an MRI scan. Dr. Lee’s initial evaluation suggested that our cat has FIP. However, he explained to us that it is an infection that is difficult to diagnose and usually requires various blood tests, imaging, and ruling out other causes. But these tests are not definitive and could mean other things. Ultimately for our cat, it was FIP. We were so thankful that Dr. Lee helped guide us towards the diagnosis and was able to get our cat treatment for this infection ASAP. Throughout our pet’s health course, Dr. Lee made sure to check in with us to see how our cat is doing and his progress to recovery. We felt extremely well-cared for and had a peace of mind that Dr. Lee is an expert in his field, providing full trust for our pet’s care. - CL
